We are really lucky to have a fabulous proactive Green Gang led by Mrs Gambrill and parent volunteers.
So far this year Green Gang have been working hard at developing our new quiet area.
A couple of years ago Maddie won the Canterbury in Bloom competition and was given the wooden planter for the school that was displayed with her winning design in Canterbury shopping Centre. It now sits at the top of the playground.
With Maddie’s prize can £130 worth of plants from the Elham Vineyard Centre. Mrs Gambrill took 3 Green Gang children to this wonderful place which is run by adults with learning difficulties. They are a garden centre owned by the Fifth Trust Charity set up to enable adults with learning difficulties to experience meaningful employment within our day centre. Not only could the children choose the plants they were able to have a look around the centre where they run their own pottery and woodwork workshop and cafe.
They came away with some fantastic plants for our garden!
